My family sleeps.
Jaclyn sleeps beside me. Les is in the guest room, Stephanie and Lee Anne are sharing our giant, down filled, “L” shaped couch with our grandson, Killian, (we’re missing our son-in-law, Kreighton) and Max is curled up in his favorite blanket in his room.
God seems to have written me to need a little less sleep which gives me moments like this one to spend time alone with God ‘shouting (quietly) my praise’ and falling at His feet to say ‘thank you’ like the one of ten who was healed of leprosy.
I never, ever want to take for granted these moments I have with each of them and with all of them at once like this one.
I am a very grateful, blessed man.
I pray God blesses their sleep and dreams this very moment and then that they know…
“.. I have not stopped giving thanks to God for you. I always remember you in my prayers, asking the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, to give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation so that you will know him better.
I pray also that you will have greater understanding in your heart so you will know the hope to which he has called us and that you will know how rich and glorious are the blessings God has promised his holy people.
And you will know that God’s power is very great for us who believe. That power is the same as the great strength God used to raise Christ from the dead and put him at his right side in the heavenly world.” – Ephesians 1:16-20
May my family daily encounter a new way to know Him better.
May I never cease to give thanks.
