Second day going home smelling of alcohol and tobacco. Nate and I went to lunch at Jack in the Box and encountered a young man recently released from prison who was very inebriated and seemed to exhale the f-bomb. That was very eventful, resulting in my car needing to be very thoroughly cleaned last night and touched up a bit this morning before work.Today, it was a sober gentleman who smelled of alcohol and cigarettes but seemed to have his head about him. He took a bus to Modesto to maybe start over, I think, and just needed someone to listen to him for a while.
Ministry is messy. I still smell of this last guy as we prayed and hugged before he left but somewhere ‘tween the cigarettes and alcohol is the sweet aroma of the Spirit’s presence.
They say 3’s a charm. I wonder what tomorrow holds.
