Project Description
I ONLY STARTED WRITING THIS BECAUSE . . .
… Jaclyn couldn’t come with me.
I was introduced to Facebook by a friend when I worked for Cedar Park Church, in Bothell, Washington. It became my ‘journal of choice’ there and gave me a medium with which to share Africa with Jaclyn who could not come with me on this missionary journey we were originally meant to take together.
It was not much later than our employment began at Cedar Park Church, that we were introduced to one of their annual events for which we will be forever grateful. It was also this event, though, which led to Jaclyn not being able to come with me to Africa. The event was Presentation Sunday, which occurs every year on the last Sunday of January. It was a special Sunday service at which they prayed for couples longing to have children who had not been able to conceive.
In a way, you could say, it was there that this journal, this blog, really began.
I pray as you sip your coffee or tea and read whatever inspired you to stop here, that you see a facet of God you have never seen before. I pray you experience your own ‘innovative genesis,’ your own new beginning, in some portion of your life as you see what God has done in ours.
Pray Without Words
Brenton, we were just talking about this! This was from the intro to my devotions this morning. Great timing! "God Is for Me” You have recorded my troubles. You have kept a list of my tears. Psalm 56:8 God knows you. He has written your name on his hand and keeps a list of
Through His Word
"The LORD was with Samuel as he grew up; he did not let any of Samuel’s messages fail to come true. Then all Israel, from Dan to Beersheba, knew Samuel was a true prophet of the LORD. And the LORD continued to show himself at Shiloh, and he showed himself to Samuel through his
Of Roots and a Rock
“Be careful that no one fails to receive God's grace and begins to cause trouble among you. A person like that can ruin many of you.” - Hebrews 12:15 The King James states: “Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and
The Man I Might Have Been
One of the things I love about Max is how much we look alike. There's something about imagining a little version of yourself running up to you and loving who you are as an adult. What does that look like for you? What if the child you were ran up to you today? Saw
I Wish You Knew Today
"I wish you knew today what would bring you peace. But now it is hidden from you." - Luke 19:42 Jesus didn't just make this statement, He cried this statement. We do, too, don't we? We think we know, and then we know we don't. He knows, and since His resurrection, He's hiding nothing.
Believing is Seeing
As Jesus came near the city of Jericho, a blind man was sitting beside the road, begging. When he heard the people coming down the road, he asked, “What is happening?” They told him, “Jesus, from Nazareth, is going by.” The blind man cried out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” The people
One Tree
Reading "Good vs God" by John Bevere, again. Ever catch yourself looking up at that one tree in the garden of Eden, you know, the only one from which you don't have permission to eat? Perhaps you stand beneath it, sit beneath it's branches looking up at it's fruit in frustration. Then, by God's
