I will never be alone.

“Be strong and brave.

Be sure to obey all the teachings my servant Moses gave you.

If you follow them exactly, you will be successful in everything you do.

Always remember what is written in the Book of the Teachings.

Study it day and night to be sure to obey everything that is written there.

If you do this, you will be wise and successful in everything.

Remember that I commanded you to be strong and brave.

Don’t be afraid, because the LORD your God will be with you everywhere you go.” – Joshua 1:6-9

I get afraid. There was a time when I wanted to become a park ranger in Yellowstone National Park just to get as far away from people as I could.

Then, it really was as if He breathed on me.

First, He made the world bigger. Not every person was like my moms and dads and that discovery was my initial intrigue.

Then, He was bigger than my world, able to be everywhere I went.

That settled, then, I saw Him transform those similar to mine.

Though so implausible, it was no longer impossible to believe my own could be redeemed, and if them, then others like them.

Then the Word would whisper, sprinkle, rain, and pour, filling me from my pinky toes until it rose to the tip of my nose.

Greater than my fear was the desire to see just one more soul redeemed like mine.

… everywhere you go.
