There’s a reason these mirrors are so much smaller than your windshield.
“If they had been thinking about the country they had left, they could have gone back.

If we give ourselves the option to go ‘back to the way things were’ then that is what we’ll be thinking about.
If I expend energy looking back, what will I have left to get me to where I’m going?
