“So, brothers and sisters, choose seven of your own men who are good, full of the Spirit and full of wisdom. We will put them in charge of this work. Then we can continue to pray and to teach the word of God.”
“Stephen was richly blessed by God who gave him the power to do great miracles and signs among the people.”
“But the Spirit was helping him to speak with wisdom, and his words were so strong that they could not argue with him.”
“But Stephen was full of the Holy Spirit. He looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at God’s right side. He said, “Look! I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at God’s right side.””
“While they were throwing stones, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” He fell on his knees and cried in a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” After Stephen said this, he died.” – Acts 6 & 7
The whole of those two chapters is so inspiring!
Stephen’s a guy asked to help with administrative stuff in the Acts church.
Full of God’s Spirit, like any one of us can be, his testimony takes up two chapters of the Word of God.
- “great miracles and signs”
- “helping him to speak with wisdom”
- “do not hold this sin against them”
How might the Holy Spirit work through each of us?
