Like Balaam’s donkey, I see an angel with a sword in your way. I see a curse and/or a judgement on those who lead others astray.
Twice in 2 days I encountered people utilizing the “declaring and decreeing” phrases the ‘apostles’ and ‘prophets’ of the amalgamate ‘Word of Faith’, ‘Latter Rain’, and ‘New Apostolic Reformation ‘ movements.
In Galatians 1:6-10, Paul wrote:
“6 God, by his grace through Christ, called you to become his people. So I am amazed that you are turning away so quickly and believing something different than the Good News. 7 Really, there is no other Good News. But some people are confusing you; they want to change the Good News of Christ. 8 We preached to you the Good News. So if we ourselves, or even an angel from heaven, should preach to you something different, we should be judged guilty! 9 I said this before, and now I say it again: You have already accepted the Good News. If anyone is preaching something different to you, let that person be judged guilty!
10 Do you think I am trying to make people accept me? No, God is the One I am trying to please. Am I trying to please people? If I still wanted to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.”
Please guard your heart. If it had not been for great teachers who brought us up on the Word of God, I may have missed it. Don’t MISS this!!
Jesus said:
“15 “Be careful of false prophets. They come to you looking gentle like sheep, but they are really dangerous like wolves. 16 You will know these people by what they do. Grapes don’t come from thornbushes, and figs don’t come from thorny weeds. 17 In the same way, every good tree produces good fruit, but a bad tree produces bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot produce good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 In the same way, you will know these false prophets by what they do.
21 “Not all those who say ‘You are our Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven. The only people who will enter the kingdom of heaven are those who do what my Father in heaven wants.” – Matthew 7:15-21
If it is in the Word of God, do it. If it is not, don’t!
Jesus gave us a model for prayer:
9 So when you pray, you should pray like this: ‘Our Father in heaven, may your name always be kept holy. 10 May your kingdom come and what you want be done, here on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us the food we need for each day. 12 Forgive us for our sins, just as we have forgiven those who sinned against us. 13 And do not cause us to be tempted, but save us from the Evil One.’ [The kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours forever. Amen.] – Matthew 6:9-13
Just a little bit further, Jesus says:
“7 “Ask, and God will give to you. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will open for you. 8 Yes, everyone who asks will receive. Everyone who searches will find. And everyone who knocks will have the door opened.
9 “If your children ask for bread, which of you would give them a stone? 10 Or if your children ask for a fish, would you give them a snake? 11 Even though you are bad, you know how to give good gifts to your children. How much more your heavenly Father will give good things to those who ask him!” – Matthew 7:7-11
Ask, search, and knock, right? All three represent a certain posture on my part. I am coming to the One who has all I want and all I need, humbly.
Paul writes:
“4 Be full of joy in the Lord always. I will say again, be full of joy. 5 Let everyone see that you are gentle and kind. The Lord is coming soon. 6 Do not worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks. 7 And God’s peace, which is so great we cannot understand it, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:4-7
As I shared with these individuals who declared and decreed, if one of my own children came to me declaring or decreeing what I’m going to do for them, it may not go over so well. Why on earth would I assume I might do this to the Lord?! Impetuous! Jesus didn’t do it and didn’t model it for us to do. The REAL apostles didn’t do it or model it for us to do.
Please, stick to the Word of God and Jesus’ Way of doing things. If it becomes more complicated than a child could understand or follow, it is NOT of God.
Jesus said:
“2 Jesus called a little child to him and stood the child before his followers. 3 Then he said, “I tell you the truth, you must change and become like little children. Otherwise, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 The greatest person in the kingdom of heaven is the one who makes himself humble like this child.” – Matthew 18:2-4
Have you read Deuteronomy 13:1-11? How about Jeremiah 14:13-16 or 23:16-32? Oh, and then there is Ezekiel 22:26-30 and Matthew 5:19.
Will all of these happen to those who change the Word of God and teach others to do so? You have been a great example in all of your years. Will you give that up now? For what?!
Please reconsider. Read Micah 3:5-8. Become a REAL man or woman of God, led by the Spirit, again.
I knew you when you only spoke the Word of God. Please return to just the Word. Please return to God. Please don’t become the ‘use to be’ or has been of 2 Peter 2:1.
I hope I have spoken the Truth in love because I do love you. I have looked up to you.
