When you were children and I was the 20-30 year old like you, this was the ‘coffee filter’ I inserted into my life each morning.
Even now as I type this, I’ve read it again because I am not a Lone Ranger, I do not do this life alone or on my own.
From experience, I have learned that I will totally fail at it.
I am free, delivered, independent, liberated and all those words you said only through my dependence on Him.
There are things ‘settled’ in my heart with which you still struggle because I have made them foundational, fundamental, and ‘no matter what’ in my life.
At 57, I am still in God’s Word before my feet touch the floor.
Out of sheer daily, determined, tedious, and repetitious habit, I have asked God to reveal just a little more of His glory to my spirit and a little more of my spirit to His Truth.
I will pray for and with my family “Bless this food to our bodies as You do Your Word to our spirits.” hoping to instill and stir within them the same awareness of that eternal portion of who they are that the enemy will attempt to bury, emaciate, reject, and replace with drugs, psychology, philosophy, and any other flesh based filler that might keep them from knowing who they really are.
I will step out of bed determined to take my place on the chess board of life, a knight, a rook or a bishop, one whom I feel God does not move as often as I see Him do with other pieces, and will remain there, a minuteman, ready ‘at a minute’s notice’ only because I have begun today, this day, right here:
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.
Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.
His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing.
Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable.
Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing.
Then the God of peace will be with you.” – Philippians 4:6-9
“Then Moses said, “If you don’t PERSONALLY go with us, don’t make us leave this place.
How will anyone know that you look FAVORABLY on me—on me and on your people—if you don’t go with us?
For your presence AMONG US sets your people and me apart from all other people on the earth.”
The LORD replied to Moses, “I will indeed do what you have asked, for I look favorably on you, and I KNOW YOU BY NAME.” – Exodus 33:15-17
God is with you.
He knows you by name.
