Pixar’s “Anger” in “Inside Out 2” was so well depicted! We SO enjoyed the movie!
He reminded me of a few verses in the Word.
“Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.” – Proverbs 16:32
“A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without wall.” – Proverbs 25:28
“For an overseer, as God’s steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined. He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.” – Titus 1:7-9
It does no good for you to take a city wherein you leave it ‘broken into and left without walls.’ Was challenged in a recent meeting and when I woke was reminded of these verses:
“Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life. Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you. Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure. Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil.” – Proverbs 4:23-27
“Be strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land that I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.”– Joshua 1:6-7
Be the leader of your own heart before you claim leadership of anything else.
“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” – Matthew 6:33
Stop trying to ‘take it’ and it will be ‘added to you.’
