Ordered a new computer related accessory for someone and it did not arrive on the day it was supposed to.
I wrote the company and they asked me to wait another few days for it to arrive but the shipping status never changed and on the new date, there was still no accessory. I wrote a review giving them a 3 star or “fair” review stating I was disappointed my item didn’t come in but that the company was courteous and prompt to respond to my inquiry.
That’s when they did what inspired this post.
“Hi, Im really sorry the post office lost this order. My feedback is important to me and if there’s anything I can do, please let me know. If you could please remove the feedback, I would greatly appreciate it. We always try our best, but sometimes delivery is out of our control.”
For you and I, if we’re honest with ourselves, feedback is important, too. We care about how others see us. Hopefully, we especially care about how God sees us.
“Do not be shaped by this world; instead be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God wants for you; you will know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect.” – Romans 12:2
If any of us has lived any number of years, we have likely had a few negative ‘customer reviews’. Still, we cannot allow those to ‘shape’ us.
“So you must change your hearts and lives! Come back to God, and he will forgive your sins. Then the Lord will send the time of rest.” – Acts 3:19
Our own ‘customer review’ becomes a 5 Star Review when we come to God and ask Him to forgive our sins, our turning away from His ways.
“…sometimes delivery is out of our control.” the provider wrote. That is what caught me.
If there was anything we could do on our own, we would certainly try to remove or change our own negative feedback, wouldn’t we?
Sometimes, delivery, or better, deliverance, is beyond our control. When we try to ‘deliver’ ourselves out of our situations, we only make them worse.
“He has taken our sins away from us as far as the east is from west.” – Psalm 103:12
God delivers on His promises. God takes away our sin. The negative customer reviews of our lives? He removes them through Jesus.
“I leave you peace; my peace I give you. I do not give it to you as the world does. So don’t let your hearts be troubled or afraid.” – John 14:27
I removed my negative customer review.
