Some think it’s an institution or an event. It’s like home and family to me.
“God is my Father, Jesus is my brother, and the blessed Holy Spirit is my guide.
I’m a new creation and the devil’s no relation and I’m bound for that city in the sky.”
“…that city in the sky…”
Right?
“But our homeland is in heaven, and we are waiting for our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, to come from heaven.” – Philippians 3:20
“Jesus answered, “My kingdom does not belong to this world. If it belonged to this world, my servants would have fought to keep me from being given over to the Jewish leaders. But my kingdom is from another place.”” – John 18:36
“Here on earth we do not have a city that lasts forever, but we are looking for the city that we will have in the future.” – Hebrews 13:14
“Dear friends, you are like foreigners and strangers in this world. I beg you to avoid the evil things your bodies want to do that fight against your soul. People who do not believe are living all around you and might say that you are doing wrong. Live such good lives that they will see the good things you do and will give glory to God on the day when Christ comes again.” – 1 Peter 2:11-12
If Jesus’ kingdom is not of this world and we are only foreigners and strangers here, why is there a seducing spirit in God’s House tempting people to believe they must establish God’s kingdom here, first, before Jesus comes back?
“But they were waiting for a better country—a heavenly country. So God is not ashamed to be called their God, because he has prepared a city for them.” – Hebrews 11:16
If God is NOT ashamed of those waiting for a better and heavenly country, what is He feeling about those seeking to establish ‘his’ kingdom, here and now?
God’s Word makes it clear He, not you, has already (past tense) prepared a city for you.
Have you become like those who built the tower of Babel to reach up to God in their own efforts?
Do you labor in vain?
Return to the Truth, please.
