Saw Avengers 2 again, recently.

One quote among many incredible lines in the movie, seemed so poignant it echoed as I made my way home after the movie.

“Stark asked for a savior, and settled for a slave.” – Ultron grumbles to Vision

Settled?

You know that the rulers of the non-Jewish people love to show their power over the people. And their important leaders love to use all their authority. But it should not be that way among you. Whoever wants to become great among you must serve the rest of you like a servant. Whoever wants to become first among you must serve the rest of you like a slave. In the same way, the Son of Man did not come to be served. He came to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many people. – Matthew 20:25-28

“God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him.” – John 3:17

The Savior of the world comes as a Slave.

Perhaps ‘settling’ is expecting and living like anything less.

“to show their power over the people”

“to use all their authority”

“He came to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many people.”

What are you asking for?

Foundations of Faith

The basic doctrines, the foundation, of the Christian faith are the subject of this completely online Bible study course.

Foundations of Faith

There are two reasons for failure to live a victorious Christian life. The first reason is that some who are trying to live like Christians have never been born again. They do not understand the basic doctrines of Jesus Christ. The second reason for failure is not going on to spiritual maturity. The focus of this study is that  maturity.

Kingdom Living

All men live in a natural kingdom of this world. They live in a city or village which is part of a nation. That nation is a kingdom of the world. In addition to the natural kingdoms of this world there are two spiritual kingdoms which exist.

Kingdom Living

Every person alive is a resident of one of these two kingdoms: The kingdom of Satan or the Kingdom of God. This study concerns the Kingdom of God. It introduces the two spiritual kingdoms, their rulers, and residents. It provides spiritual keys for gaining access to the Kingdom of God and warns of things which result in being cast out.
