Prayerfully considering taking on a new role and responsibility in life and thought of this book.
What would it be like to hear your dad say this to you?
“Oh! Ephraim (insert your child’s name) is my dear, dear son(daughter), my child in whom I take pleasure!
Every time I mention his(her) name, my heart bursts with longing for him(her)!
Everything in me cries out for him(her). Softly and tenderly I wait for him(her).” – Jeremiah 31:20 MSG
Dads, say this to your children.
If you’ve never heard it from your own dad, break that horrible tradition and start a new one.
Reading “Fathered by God” by John Eldridge.
Such a great book for dads, sons, fathers to the fatherless, and especially to those who are or were fatherless.
Charles Schwab said, “I consider my ability to arouse enthusiasm among my people the greatest asset I possess, and the way to develop the best that is in a person is by appreciation and encouragement. There’s nothing else that so kills the ambitions of a person as criticism from superiors.
I never criticize anyone.
I believe in giving a person incentive to work.
So, I am anxious to praise but loath to find fault. If I like anything, I am hearty in my appreciation and lavish in my praise.
In my own walk, I will ever attempt to overcome the opposite of this, even to the point of silence.”
Jeremiah 31:16-22
