“God began by making one person, and from him came all the different people who live everywhere in the world. God decided exactly when and where they must live.
God WANTED THEM TO LOOK FOR HIM and perhaps search all around for him and find him, though he is not far from any of us…” – Acts 17:26-27
This just jumped off the page like it was magnified as I was reading it again and I had to share it!
Jaclyn and I have been married for 24 years this year and there are times we get so ‘in the flow’ of things that life just moves along and we have all of our own things to do and see and think about and here and there along the way, knowing her husband can be absent minded, she says, “I feel like flowers.”
I know in those moments we’ve become a little bit like roommates or that we’ve somehow let our relationship get on cruise control and it’s time to hit the gas or the brake to stir it up a little, and, of course, to go get some flowers. 😉
Emmett, last night from the kitchen came around the corner and as I saw him, I said, “Come here.” and smiled.
He moved toward me but only just a bit and then he smiled a huge, cheek to cheek, grin, backed up and edged away back around the corner.
He wanted to be chased!
I obliged, of course, and he screamed with delight as I rounded the corner, chasing him into the living room and scooping him up in a tight embrace.
How many of us enjoy being pursued?
“I say this because I know what I am planning for you,” says the LORD. “I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future. Then you will call my name. You will come to me and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will search for me. And when you search for me with all your heart, you will find me!“ – Jeremiah 29:11-13
“…and when you search for me with all of your heart, you will find me.“
