“The lazy person says, “There’s a lion outside! I might get killed out in the street!” – Proverb 22:13

From devotions today, this verse reminded me of Proverb 28:1, “Evil people run even though no one is chasing them, but good people are as brave as a lion.”

The righteous would go out and do something about that lion in the first verse.

The lazy person might be coaxed into running away with the evil people.

In either case, better to be among the good.

That reminded me of this verse, “The master answered, ‘You did well. You are a good and loyal servant. Because you were loyal with small things, I will let you care for much greater things. Come and share my joy with me.'”

Then “Where you began will seem unimportant, because your future will be so successful.” from Job 8:7 followed that verse in my head and I suddenly remembered the old Lay’s potato chip slogan, “betcha can’t eat just one.”

Find these verses in your own Bible. Pray as you read and allow God to set up a chain reaction in your own heart. Ha! Speaking of chains, read Psalm 107.

What happens to chains?

What verse is next for you?
