I tried going to bed early to see if I’d get 8 hours sleep. It didn’t work. 😉
“I have taken your words to heart so I would not sin against you.” – Psalm 119:11
One of my first memorized verses. That whole Psalm is about the heartful observance of God’s Word.
I LOVE God. I want to know all of Him.
Every time I learn something new, I want to share it with you.
Pastor says it’s like the girl who just got engaged and wants to show everyone her diamond ring.
I have a precious affinity for the One who amazingly saved me from the most hellacious experiences.
The desire to share it with you?
“I give you a command in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, the One who will judge the living and the dead, and by his coming and his kingdom: Preach the Good News. Be ready at all times, and tell people what they need to do. Tell them when they are wrong. Encourage them with great patience and careful teaching, because the time will come when people will not listen to the true teaching but will find many more teachers who please them by saying the things they want to hear.” – 2 Timothy 4:1-3
Most of the time, it’s the ooey-gooey stuff I like to share the most, the heart behind the laws, commands, and precepts of that psalm.
Sometimes, though, it’s to warn people
“Make every effort to give yourself to God as the kind of person he will approve. Be a worker who is not ashamed and who uses the true teaching in the right way.” – 2 Timothy 2:15
“My brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.” – James 3:1
Yikes, right?!
Still, and I know you are out there, too, you HAVE to teach because God’s Word will NOT let you be quiet.
“Jesus said, “What is written in the law? What do you read there?“
The man answered, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.” Also, “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.”
Jesus said to him, “Your answer is right. Do this and you will live.” – Luke 10:26-28
What is written in the law?
Love.
