Deuteronomy 24:1-4 was the set of verses Pastor Berteau had given me as a ‘finish line’ of my desperate attempt to see my family restored 29 years ago.

With the Lord holding my hand, I had determined I would remain faithful to my then spouse because I loved my family and had already seen the devastation caused by divorce through my parents’ lives.

The night I told him my determination, he prayed for me. He encouraged me, saying I was ‘Mr. Tenacious.’

In a later meeting, he shared with me these verses. We would continue to pray for restoration up until my then spouse married another.

It was near closing time. Pastor stopped by my work place. He noticed I was still wearing my wedding ring on my ring finger and hers on my pinky finger. We prayed God would restore my marriage and spouse one last time. We had heard she intended to marry that night, New Year’s Eve, at midnight.

Our ‘Marrieds’ pastor, Pastor Tom, called me at home at 11:45pm. He knew I was awake. He asked if he could just hang with me on the phone until after the wedding.

It occurred.
We prayed.

‘Les, it’s time.” he said. I looked down at my left hand, to the rings, everything seeming to move in slow motion, and removed the rings.

It was ‘a’ finish line.

There’ve been many now since and in all of the best finishes was God’s Word, one of my pastors or dear brothers and sisters in Christ, and prayer.

“God began doing a good work in you, and I am sure he will continue it until it is finished when Jesus Christ comes again.” – Philippians 1:6

God is faithful to COMPLETE what He has begun in you.

I can prove it.

Jaclyn and I have been married now for many years. God has so richly blessed our home and relationship.

“This is my prayer for you: that your love will grow more and more; that you will have knowledge and understanding with your love; that you will see the difference between good and bad and will choose the good; that you will be pure and without wrong for the coming of Christ; that you will be filled with the good things produced in your life by Christ to bring glory and praise to God.” – Philippians 1:9-11

I pray this is so for us and for you.

Foundations of Faith

The basic doctrines, the foundation, of the Christian faith are the subject of this completely online Bible study course.

Foundations of Faith

There are two reasons for failure to live a victorious Christian life. The first reason is that some who are trying to live like Christians have never been born again. They do not understand the basic doctrines of Jesus Christ. The second reason for failure is not going on to spiritual maturity. The focus of this study is that  maturity.

Kingdom Living

All men live in a natural kingdom of this world. They live in a city or village which is part of a nation. That nation is a kingdom of the world. In addition to the natural kingdoms of this world there are two spiritual kingdoms which exist.

Kingdom Living

Every person alive is a resident of one of these two kingdoms: The kingdom of Satan or the Kingdom of God. This study concerns the Kingdom of God. It introduces the two spiritual kingdoms, their rulers, and residents. It provides spiritual keys for gaining access to the Kingdom of God and warns of things which result in being cast out.
