“The Celts had a phrase, “Never give a sword to a man who can’t dance,” by which they meant if he is not also becoming a poet, be careful how much warrior you allow a man to be.” From “Fathered by God” by John Eldridge

What are you insanely passionate about?!

What or who is your muse?

How often do you ask yourself this question?

I picked up this book I had put on pause for a purpose that doesn’t seem to be there anymore.

What got me was that I was missing the outright challenge the book breathes inside and out to allow yourself to be Fathered by God and to live what that might mean to you.

I know I am not the only one who has felt rejected or abandoned by a father or fatherly role and so the challenge is to be vulnerable to the point of allowing someone to speak ‘fatherly’ to you as a father might and to receive their direction and follow through with it as a son might.

We are never too old to be sons, to be challenged, and to grow.
