“My dear brothers and sisters, always be willing to listen and slow to speak.
Do not become angry easily, because anger will not help you live the right kind of life God wants.
So put out of your life every evil thing and every kind of wrong.
Then in gentleness accept God’s teaching that is planted in your hearts, which can save you.” – James 1:19-21

Sometimes ‘every evil thing’ is not something you’ve done.

Sometimes, it is something someone else has done that gets you concerned, fearful, and even angry.

I know it happens to me!

“Do not worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks.
And God’s peace, which is so great we cannot understand it, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7

“…in Christ Jesus.”

I get concerned, fearful, and angry when I read some of the things that are happening in the world.

Still, I have a greater God, who is NOT sitting in heaven, reading the newspaper, saying, “Oh, I didn’t see THAT coming.”

God knows.

I know God.

Thankfully, in the midst of some wonky press that, on purpose, attempts to make me concerned, fearful, and angry, I can have “God’s peace, which is so great we cannot understand it”

On purpose, put aside the press and prayerfully experience God’s peace in the midst of it.
